Exit Baker Street underground station onto Marylebone Road (the A501) and turn left. Keep walking past Madame Tussauds and at the next set of traffic lights turn left into York Gate. Cross over at the lights and follow York Bridge to the end. In front of you are some large gates into Regent's Park. Pass through these gates into the park and keep walking straight. After a short while, you will see the theatre on your left.

People coming to the theatre on a bike should bring them into the theatre grounds, where there are bike racks. The park gates are locked during the performance so please do not leave bikes outside the theatre.

Baker Street is the closest tube station and is served by the Bakerloo, Circle, Hammersmith and City, Jubilee and Metropolitan lines.

We are also close to Regent's Park Station (Bakerloo Line) and Great Portland Street Station (Hammersmith & City, Circle and Metropolitan lines.)

Baker Street is served by bus numbers 13, 18, 27, 30, 74, 82, 113, 139, 189, 274
Marylebone Road is serviced by bus numbers 18, 205, 27, 30, 453 and N18.

Coach

Coaches may only drop off and pick up parties on the Inner Circle at a pre-arranged date and time.

A valid permit must be issued in advance by The Open Air Theatre to cover this arrangement.

Please call 0845 673 2151. These permits are free of charge for coaches visiting the theatre.

Coaches are not permitted to park on any park roads at any time.

The nearest coach parks to the theatre are located at London Zoo off the Outer Circle (Tel. 020 7722 3333) and the NCP Coach Park on Bayswater Road (Tel 020 7229 9381 or 0845 0507 080).

Please contact the coach parks directly regarding prices and availability. Please note that London Zoo coach park is accessible via Gloucester Gate only.

Parking is free on the Inner Circle, Chester Road and Outer Circle after 6.30pm. Pay and Display at all other times.

Pay and Display rates:

60p for 15 mins Mon - Sat (with a maximum staying time of four hours)
35p for 15 mins on Sunday (with no limit of staying time)
Disabled badge holders and motorcycles park free of charge. No coaches.

Please note parking is often available on Chester Road. As with anywhere in central London, please ensure you do not leave valuables on display in your car.

What is the best way to travel to the theatre?

The theatre is in Queen Mary's Garden in Regent's Park. The closest underground station is Baker Street.

Is the theatre easy to find?

If you are a first time visitor, please leave plenty of time to find the theatre. As we are located within a Royal Park, signposting is limited, so you may want to print off a copy of the map.

What should I wear?

You are welcome to dress as casually or as smartly as you like. However, the theatre is entirely outdoors so please remember to come prepared for all types of weather, including sun cream, waterproofs and jumpers. We also sell rugs, caps and ponchos.

Can I bring an umbrella?

Yes, but please refrain from using an umbrella during the performance.

What time do the theatre gates open?

In order to prepare the venue and for the cast to complete their warm up, theatre gates open 90 minutes before evening performances and 60 minutes before matinees.

Is the theatre within the congestion charging zone?

No, the theatre is outside of the congestion charging zone.

Can I bring my bike to the theatre?

Yes, there is an area inside the theatre to store your bike during the performance. Do not chain your bike to the Park railings, or leave your bike outside the theatre as Queen Mary's Gardens are locked at dusk.

I need to organise my journey home. How will I know what time the performance ends?

The running time will not be more than three hours. Once the production opens, we will add the running time within the What's On section.
