Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre has begun recruiting Visitor Services Supervisors (Box Office and FOH) for the 2012 season.

The Visitor Services Supervisors assist and support the Visitor Services Management to deliver efficient and effective management of the box office, retail space, front-of-house and other visitor areas, as well as ensuring that the entire site is maintained, thereby providing a safe and welcoming environment for all our audience, staff and visitors.

This summer Timothy Sheader, Artistic Director of Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre, will direct, and Liam Steel will co-direct, Sondheim’s Into the Woods in New York’s Central Park for The Public Theater.

Based on our 2010 Olivier Award-winning show, this new production will feature an entirely American cast.

The creative team will include scenic design by John Lee Beatty and Soutra Gilmour, costume design by Emily Rebholz, lighting design by Natasha Katz, and sound design by Acme Sound Partners.

The complete creative team for our 2012 season has been confirmed. Timothy Sheader will direct the musical Ragtime, with choreography by Javier de Frutos. Musical direction is by Nigel Lilley and orchestrations by Chris Walker.

Matthew Dunster will direct A Midsummer Night’s Dream. Matthew is an Associate Artist at the Young Vic and as a playwright, his play Children’s Children will debut at the Almeida Theatre in May. The Dream will have movement direction by Charlotte Broom and original music by Olly Fox.

Following his iconic design for last season’s Lord of the Flies, Jon Bausor is Set Designer for both productions in 2012 (in addition to designing the opening ceremony for the Paralympic Games). Other members of the shared creative team include Laura Hopkins (costume design), James Farncombe (lighting design), and Nick Lidster and Ian Dickinson for Autograph (sound design).

It has been announced today that our Artistic Director Timothy Sheader will direct his first show at the National Theatre this Christmas.

The play, The Count of Monte Cristo, will be adapted by Richard Bean whose acclaimed production of One Man Two Guvnors is currently playing in the West End and soon to open on Broadway.

Winners will be announced and awards presented at the Awards’ Concert on Sunday 19 February 2012 at the Prince of Wales Theatre.

Two productions will run across the entire season: the Tony Award-winning musical Ragtime will begin previews on 18 May followed by
A Midsummer Night’s Dream on 2 June.

To mark the occasion, cast members from our 2011 hit production of Crazy For You, now playing at the Novello Theatre, visited the Open Air Theatre where redevelopment of the backstage facilities and box office is well under way.

Tickets for our 2012 season range from £22.50-£42.50.
